Errachidia is the administrative capital of the Tafilalet region. It lies just south of the Middle Atlas Mountains and north of the Sahara desert.

This is a genuine, authentic Moroccan town, completely untouched by foreign influences. Apart from the panoramic desert landscape, some of the highlights include; observing the interesting range of flora and fauna; bird watching and visiting the many lakes, valleys and geysers along with the spectacular Ziz Gorges.

It's amazing to see what kind of creatures can actually exist in such a hostile environment. But apart from the local dromaderies (one humped camels), there are a surprising variety of lizards, mice, toads, frogs, and more...

You can find some of the best examples of folds in Jurassic rocks in this area. The Ziz Gorges are home to some of the most spectacular oases in Morocco.
