Morocco is a golfers paradise. Its incredibly popular here, partly because King Hassan II was an internationally ranked player. The world famous Hassan II Trophy is held each year in Rabat, Morocco in north Africa.
Morocco has at least 30 golf courses and there are new ones appearing all the time. The three best known can be found at the Royal Dar es Salaam Golf Club in Rabat.
Agadir also has three golf courses; The Agadir Royal Golf Course (par 36); the stunning Dunes Golf Club (three 9-hole par 36 courses) and the 5-star Golf du Soleil (27-hole par 72 - set around lakes, palm trees and eucalyptus).
Marrakech also has some fine courses. There's the Marrakech Royal - an 18-hole par 72 course (located at the foot of the Atlas mountains); the Palmeraie Golf Club (with spectacular views of the Atlas mountains and easy access to the beach.) and the Amelkis Golf Club.
Other 18-hole courses near the coast include the Ben Slimane and El Jadida Mohammedia; The Royal Golf Club (near Casablanca) and the Tangier Royal Golf.
The Mohammed VI Golf Trophy is held at Dar es-Salaam Royal Golf Course in Rabat every year at the end of March. Other important tournaments include the Moroccan Open and the Hassan II Trophy (mentioned above).
