Hotels here can be really expensive. Do what most Moroccans do. Just come up for the day and stay in Marrakech at night.

The same applies to restaurants. Bring sandwiches (unless you're loaded). The prices in the few restaurants that there are here reflect which part of Moroccan society visits Oukaïmeden.

There are no banks. You have to go to Marrakech to change money.

Unless you have a car, the best way to get here is to take a shared taxi from Marrakech. But be warned - once the taxi drivers hear the name Oukaïmeden they automatically assume that you're 'incredibly wealthy' and feel it's justifiable to charge you 300- 400 dh for just 75 kms (an insane price by Moroccan standards). But think positive! - This is a perfect opportunity to practice your haggling skills!
