Morocco is known as the land of the point break and the coastline around Agadir is riddled with spots. Unlike most well-known surf locations in neighboring Europe, this area of North Africa will allow you to catch waves in a spot that is completely uncrowded.

In Morocco, it´s almost impossible to find yourself struggling to catch a wave in a crowded line up. If you do, you are doing something wrong; there are empty spots around every corner with perfect waves - all to yourself. And during the winter, they´re firing!

The best time to go surfing in Morocco is from late autumn until March. The rest of the year is fairly uneventful. As the big swells arrive and hit the Atlantic coast, head off to Agadir. Just a short drive north, you´ll find some excellent, world-class surfing. In Agadir itself you can´t actually surf, but it´s an easy place to get to.

Anchor point is an absolute must (even just to look at!). The waves can break as much as a kilometer offshore!

If you have a four-wheel drive, why not head south of Agadir and discover some new spots. In this region you´ll find classic waves all over the place. You might even be the first person to have ever surfed here.

In Morocco, there are always consistent waves (in season). The beaches are uncrowded and there are some classic point breaks. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to watch out for local thieves and touts.
