Chefchaouen is one of the very few places in Morocco, north Africa where you can actually drink the tap water.

It's as pure and natural as the surrounding landscape. It comes rushing down, straight from the mountains, so virtually nothing gets a chance to pollute it. It only comes in contact with oxygen.

Ras el Ma is the main water source. It's located just north of the old city, in idyllic natural surroundings with massive trees, colourful flowers and a small system of passageways and small bridges. This is the point where the mountain walls start to become too steep to hold any settlements - it's very peaceful, quite and serene.
