Standing at 4167m (6668ft) Jebel Toubkal is the highest mountain in Morocco, North Africa and one of the most popular treks in the High Atlas region.

Toubkal is just an hour's drive from Marrakech. Most treks start off in the nearby village of Imlil. You can go trekking all year round in this area but the best time to go is between April and October.

If you want to tackle the canyons and gorges, the best time to go is normally from June to October. Sometimes though, during the summer months, storms can bring heavy rains to the area making the gorges impassable.
